Addison shook her heard.She was not going to let Derek lose Meredith.She flat out refused"Derek,you have to keep fighting for her.True love is worth fighting for Derek.If you honestly love her the way I know you do,then you cannot,I repeat,cannot give up on her.I will not let you give up on love."She told Derek firmly as she sat beside him.

"I have been fighting for her, Addison. I don't know how much more of it I can take before it's worthless. You can fight to an extent but after that..it's up to the person to decide what should really be the choice" he said to her and sighed a bit as he put his head into his hand. "I know you're trying, Addie. I appreciate. I do. You have something. You have Mark and I...Meredith is just...I don't get her at all." Derek was just confused.

Addison knew what he was saying,but still she was not letting him give up on Meredith.Derek could not lose another woman that he loved.He lost her and Addison would not let him lose Meredith too.Not after everything Derek and Meredith had been through together.She spoke softly"I don't officially have Mark Derek.We are supposed to meet tomorrow to talk about us."She quickly added"Meredith just lost her mother and stepmom in a matter of six weeks Derek.You cannot expect her to want to talk about it."

"I'm not asking her to talk about that. I'm just simply asking her to not avoid me and not silence me out" he said looking at her. "I mean I wish she could talk to me and tell me things. I know she lost her mother and stepmother. That's hard. I know. I shouldn't be so selfish but without her..I feel all alone." It was true without Meredith he felt alone and isolated.

"You need to give her some space Derek.People deal with death in different ways.I know she wasn't that close with her stepmom,but I did hear that she was trying to get along with her."Addison murmured.She thought Derek was being selfish,but she knew not to say anything"You aren't alone Derek.You may not have Meredith right now,but there are other people that care about you.Richard,me and Mark for starters.Maybe while Meredith's thinking things over,you can think things over yourself.Maybe try to remember why you are still angry with Mark even though you and I are divorced."She said softly.

Derek sighed and nodded at her. "Your right" he said to her. Addison had a point and he was just being completely absorbed in himself and wasn't thinking about others and how they took things. "I'm mad at him because he betrayed me. He slept with you. That was the worst night ever, Addie. Finding you in bed with my best friend. That's why I am still mad at him. I'm never going to forgive him and I'm sorry to say this I haven't forgiven you either but I choose to get along with you no matter what because you still are my family." Family always stuck together no matter what. They had spent 11 Thanksgivings, Christmases and birthdays together before it ended.

Addison couldn't believe that Derek was saying she was right.She decided to brush past that comment"I get that you are still furious at him,but Derek he was basically your brother way before I came along.I don't get how you can be okay with me and not him.I betrayed you too Derek.I screwed your best friend and you walked in on us.I don't think I'll ever get that memory completely out of my head.Mark loves you and he misses you."Addison told him softly as she put a hand on his arm.

"Derek,I got drunk that night.Mark and I were both drunk.I got drunk after you called me and told me that you weren't going to be home again.I called Mark and he came over to keep me company.It wasn't expected to be anything more than two friends hanging out...but then it was more than that."Addison told him.She knew it didn't make much of a difference"I figured this would get your attention.Make you start paying me more attention to me."She heard the comments about his heart and snorted"Got over it in what...six weeks was it when you met Meredith? So I am sure you weren't crushed that hard."

Derek looked at her. "I think it's time for you to leave" he said to her as he pointed towards the door of the trailer. He had enough of this and she wasn't taking him seriously. He had been crushed. He just found other ways to keep himself busy. Obviously it was sleeping with other girls to forget about what had happened in New York. He rubbed his eyes as he couldn't take this anymore.

Addison didn't even care if he had cared.He hadn't ever shown any emotion to her.Even their sex life had been bad in Seattle.She nodded curtly and said"Good bye Derek.Go drink yourself into oblivion.It's a new way of avoidance I see."Addison walked over to the doorway and she stood there,as if waiting to hear if he had any other parting words to say to her.

"That's right, I will. Just go or do you have to have me escort you out like I did in New York?" He asked as he looked at her. His eyes were not cold. They were just...nothing. There was nothing in Derek to show any emotion. It was like he had shut it all off. "Go have fun with Mark. I'm sure he was the best d**n thing that happened to you in a long time." Derek then got up and headed into the bedroom.

Just before Addison closed the door,she screamed"He is the best thing that's happened to me.I don't ever question that he loves me.Not like I questioned certain other people."She slammed the door behind her and got in her car and drove off,shaking all over.
