Derek sighed as he sat outside his trailer in the rather comfortable chair as it was slightly raining out. A beer in his hand was all he needed for tonight. It was nice to just relax and not have to think about many things even though a lot was on his mind. This afternoon hadn't been good. He practically yelled at everyone that was in his way. He was just frustrated and e\verything. Sighing again he drank from the bottle as he saw some headlights coming in and wondered who that could possibly be a midnight.

Addison had witnessed firsthand Derek's crabby mood the day before and she didn't have time to come see him last night,so she decided to head over to the trailer to check on him.She was amazed she could still find her way there after all this time.
She finally saw it and pulled up to it.She walked over to the door and knocked on the door.She wasn't sure if he was passed out from beers,but she needed to talk to him.

Derek heard the knock on his door and muttered a bit. "Coming" he shouted and slurred loudly as he stumbled to the door. From what he could see it was Addison. What was hse doing here? Shaking his head a bit he opened the door. "What do you need?" Derek asked her as he was leaning into the door frame a bit. Right away, one could tell he was drunk. He couldn't stand up straight or say anything that sounded the least bit clear.

Addison sighed.This was going to be a lot harder than she expected.He was clearly more drunk than she had ever seen him before.She crossed her arms over her chest and said"Go sit your ass down Derek.I came to check on you."Addison figured that Derek would either puke on her or on himself tonight.She tepped out of her brand new Dolce and Gabana shoes and looked at him.

"Why?" he slurred heavily as he turned and grabbed onto the chair as he sat down. Derek cleared his throat a bit. He was a mess right now. Only because of Meredith was he a mess. She had caused this to happen and she should have known how he would have taken it. "I don't need people checking up on me, Addison."

Addison had forgotten how d**n stubborn Derek could be.She watched as he sat down.She walked into the trailer and tried not to react as a rush of memories hit her.She kept her gaze on Derek and said"Listen I know all about you and Meredith being on the outs,but I can't say I am surprised at Meredith.It seems like she just needs some time.Amazingly you aren't running away.You are just being stupid by getting drunk."Addison was exasperated with him.She then added"Friends check up on each other Derek.Richard was going to come,but I told him I'd handle it."

"Oh. I'm stupid. Really?" Derek asked as he stood up, wobbling a bit in his place. "Mhmm why is it that the finger is always directed on me? Never you huh?" He crossed his arms at her and had to laugh at her next comment. "Oh you can handle it. That's funny. I didn't think you could." Derek was in no mood to talk to Addison. He was rather mad and just drunk off his ass.

Addison couldn't believe what he was insinuating.God he could be so infuriating.She snorted at him and snapped"You made the same exact screwups that I did.The only difference was that I slept with your best friend.You just slept with some random girl."Addison knew she could handle him,but God she wished she had brought reinforcements.She took a bold step and yanked the beer bottle away from him"Yes Derek,I can freaking handle you."She yelled angrily.

"You want to go at it, Addie. I dare you to try something really stupid and see what the hell happens" he shouted at her angrily. It echoed thru the whole entire trailer as he advanced on her. Derek had never been so angry before in his life. Well there had been one time but that was a long time ago. It was clear he was fighting with his emotions right now. He wasn't sure what to be. To be angry, upset or just downright depressed because of this.

Addison was angry.She dropped her purse and yelled back"I slept with my husband's best friend.I lost my marriage over that.That's stupid don't you think.Oh and your best friend knocked me up in New York.We have both screwed up Derek."Addison knew Derek was upset,so she lowered her voice"Have you um...tried talking to her?"She asked hesitantly.

"Well that was you're fault" Derek said to her and sighed a bit. This was really turning into a night to remember. They were just basically yelling back and forth at each other. This was not solving anything at all. "Oh yeah. Like she would talk to me. I've tried, Addie but she is ignoring me which means...you know I don't know what it means but it's not good. Right now, I just want to...drink and not have to think about Meredith Grey."

Addison knew yelling wasn't helping anything,so she dropped the subject of their screwups and listened to Derek.She knew he was hurt over Meredith ignoring him."Listen Derek...She'll come around.And as for not talking or thinking about her,we can do that,but I insist that you stop the drinking Derek."Addison murmured softly.

Derek sighed and flopped down on the pull out couch. "This is not how I pictured things, Addie. They were supposed to be totally different" he said to her as he ran his hand thru his hair a bit. He wanted to be with Meredith so much but she was blocking him out to think about things. He had no problem with that but the no talking was getting to him.

"I hope so, Addie because if it doesn't. Then I'm done with love. I'm sick of trying to find it. When I do, I have to fight for it. If I lose then I'm done. Just gone" Derek said to her. Love was hard to find but when that right moment came everything seemed so hopeful, then it happened and it was like drowning and trying to breath.
