Personality: Derek is a very determined guy. He takes things especially hard when it comes to someone he loves. Derek is a family man which means that family is important to him. He is easily effected and hurt by others but trys to not show it. He is complex is most ways and can never make up his mind when it comes to love.
History: Derek was born the only son of the Shepherds. When he was young his father passed away. His family was able to pull together in this tragic time and work thru the pain//heartache. His best-friend growing up was Mark Sloan and he was always considered the other son of the Shepherds. Due to his family being in the medical practice, Derek attends medical school and meets, Addison Montgomery, his future wife. They eventually got married but 11 years later it ended after Derek found his best friend with her.
Estranged by this he leaves Addison and goes to Seattle where he ends up sleeping with an Intern, Meredith Grey. Problems arise for them but they manage to sort it through until Addison shows ups. This rocks his world as he gives her another chance, however he ends up with Meredith. Now it doesn't seem like they are ok as Meredith will not talk to him until she finds out what she wants in life.
Roleplay sample: George sighed as he was waiting for some test results from his patient. Leaning against the receptionist desk he began talking to himself. "It's not like I had a choice" he muttered to him as he shook his head. "It just happened and yeah. I didn't know and..." George got lost in his own talkative stature that he didn't notice Callie who seemed to have stopped. Raising an eyebrow at her husand she smirked. He was cute when he talked to himself like that. It meant he was paranoid or there was a situation going on. Setting her chart down she suprised him by wrapping her arms around him.
"George. Hey sweetie" she said putting her chin on his shoulder. George immediately came out of his little thing and smiled a bit. "Callie. Hey." 'Oh boy how long has she been standing there?' he thought to himself. He must have looked like an idiot. "You're cute when you talk to yourself, George O' Malley" Callie then patted him on the head. "Paranoia I suppose." Maybe that would explain why he talked to himself so much. "Maybe but still. When are you off?" George thought for a moment before responding, "9 o'clock." A smile formed on her face. "Perfect. I will see you around 9:30. You and me...we are going out." George sputtered a moment but Callie wouldn't take no for an answer as she turned and walked off. "Crap" he muttered under his breath as all he wanted to was sleep.
